Taking Care of your Pearls

Pearls that come into contact with skin can cause damage to the pearl over time. Skin is naturally acidic which can eat away the nacre (protective coating) on the pearl. It is recommended that you clean your pearls with a soft cloth periodically to keep them free from dirt, oils and sweat. If your pearls need a heavy cleaning you can use warm water with a small amount of dishwashing detergent. The pearls should soak for no longer than 30 minutes. Then let pearls air dry.
